TODAY

It’s Friday AND we are back to a regular schedule!

 

Students: Please check your emails daily! Mrs. Ontrop will be communicating with you through email as she is working through graduation and scheduling.

 

Today is the last day to purchase a yearbook. You can purchase online by following this link. There are currently 13 yearbooks left at a discounted rate. Contact the HS Office if you have any questions.


Friday School is today from 3:15 to 6:00 for those students who have been assigned. Please report to Mrs. Vian’s Room 628.

 

NEXT WEEK

An AM Activity Period will be held on Monday with the following groups meeting:

  • Relay for Life - Community Room

  • Girls interested in basketball next year - HS Commons

  • Boys interested in basketball next year - HS Commons Coffee Shop

  • Sophomores attending Vantage next year - Auditorium

The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, May 1. Students must be at least 16 years old to donate blood. Students who are 16 need a signed permission form by a parent. The sign up sheet is located in Mrs. Clark’s Room 626. In addition to saving lives, your donation also helps Parkway meet its goal which earns a scholarship for our seniors. Students need a picture ID, such as a driver's license, or students can stop by the HS Office for a picture ID to be printed.

 

SPORTS

Down 6-2 in the bottom of the 7th, the Lady Panthers scored 4 runs and then went on to defeat New Bremen 8-7 in 11 innings. Avery White sent the game into extra innings with a triple that scored Adria Miller who had reached base on an error. New Bremen scored 2 runs in the top of the 10th inning, but the comeback kids rallied once again, this time with 2 outs, when Meg Henkle singled to score Brittyn Bruns and Madison Louth. In the bottom of the 11th, and again with 2 outs, Bryn Schoenleben drove in Avery White for the winning run with a base hit to left field.  Bryn Schoenleben picked up the win in relief pitching the final inning, recording 2 strikeouts. Meg Henkle started the game in the circle before giving way to Brittyn Bruns who pitched 9 ⅓ innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, walking 5 and striking out 17 batters. Offensively, Madison Louth was 4 for 6 with 1 RBI; Meg Henkle had 3 RBI’s; Adria Miller had 2 RBI’s; and Avery White had a double, a triple, and 1 RBI.

 

The Varsity Baseball team scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th to defeat New Bremen, 2-1. Trent Rollins picked up the win on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1. Caiden Berry finished the final 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, walking 2, and striking out 1. Offensively, Carson Kirby and Fletcher Smith drove in a run each. 

 

The Parkway Athletic Department and Shultz Huber & Associates, Inc. are pleased to announce the Scholar-Athletes of the Month for April: Trent Rollins is the recipient for baseball and Madison Louth is the recipient for softball. Please stop by the HS Office to receive your award.

The Mercer County District Library in Celina is hosting a Teen Murder Mystery “Death on the Set” tonight from 6:00 to 7:00. Sign up, show up, play your role. Play detective and discover who’s killed the director. Teens ages 13-17 only. Registration is required at
