High School Announcements

TODAY

Congratulations to the FFA Outdoor Power Team that participated in the state contest yesterday. The team placed 3rd in the state and Caden Hays placed 8th in the contest. Great job!

 

Senior baseball and softball athletes need to pick up their senior night form in the HS Office. Forms are due back to the office on Monday.  

 

Attention Seniors: Please write your plans after graduation on the outside of Mrs. Imwalle's door by today. This is for the Senior Wall.

 

Sophomores: Earn prom hours NOW for next year! Report to the high school main entrance on Sunday at 1:00 for Prom cleanup. See your class officers if you have questions or stop by the HS Office 

 

The following students need to report to the HS Office during homeroom: Lexie Sites, Tara Brown, Savanna Freeman, TJ Boersma, Emmery Temple, Bryn Schoenleben, Adria Miller, Brittyn Bruns, Cali Bollenbacher, Kelsie Kellermeyer, Fletcher Smith, Ty Lautzenheiser, Aisley Everett, Gabryelle Sill

 

PROM INFO

Are you attending Prom? You MUST have the following completed by Friday at 3:15:

 

  • Submitted your RSVP

  • Permission form & $10 if bringing a non-Parkway guest turned into the HS Office

  • Ticket to attend - Pick up in the HS Office – No ticket, no Prom!

 

Picture forms for a formal prom picture are available in the HS Office. 

 

Prom Itinerary for Saturday: 


5:30 – Doors open at the HS main entrance – those attending Prom MUST have a ticket!

6:00 – Prom Pictures in the Community Room taken by James Leighner

7:00 – Promenade in the HS Gymnasium    ($1 donation for everyone who attends)

8:00 – Crowning of Prom King and Queen

8:00 to 8:30 – Pictures and clearing of dance floor

8:30 to 10:30 – Dance

10:30 to 11:00 – Students change clothes for After-Prom

11:00 – Board busses for Pla-Mor Lanes

11:30 to 1:30am – After-Prom (unlimited bowling, pizza, pop and water)

2:00am – Arrive back at PHS

2:30am – Curfew


NEXT WEEK

High School students ONLY will be running on a 2 hour delay on the following dates for End of Course testing: April 22, 23, 24, and 25.  

 

  • Students – check the pink lists in the hallway for your testing days & room assignments.

 

  • School transportation will run on a normal schedule on these days. If you are not required to be at school during testing time, you will need to either provide your own transportation or ride school transportation at normal time. 


  • Students who are NOT testing and NOT taking the 2 hour delay will report to study hall from 8:00 to 10:00.


  • Students taking the 2 hour delay will report to the HS Commons upon arrival to school and wait to be released to lockers and classes. 


  • Testing will take place from 8:00 to 9:50, followed by all students attending regular classes beginning at 10:00. Class periods will run as follow: 1-2-3-5-6-4-7-8-9


  • Co-op Students: You are required to stay for your 4th period class. You will report to the library for 5th period and eat lunch 6th period. 

 

NEXT WEEK

Relay for Life forms have been distributed and are due to the HS Office by Tuesday, April 23. 

 

 

  • Relay for Life is Wednesday, May 8, for the entire school day. Rain date is May 9.

 

  • Students need to have a signature from each teacher in order to miss that period of the day. All 8 periods (lunch period does not need signed) must be signed if you wish to stay outside all day for games, fun, and food. 

 

  • The cost is $10 without a t-shirt and $25 with a t-shirt.

 

  • Form MUST be turned in with the correct amount of money.

 

  • If you have questions, stop by the HS Office.

 

The last day to purchase a yearbook is Friday, April 26. You can purchase online by following this link. Contact Mr. Albers if you have any questions.

 

SPORTS

The Varsity Softball team rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to force extra innings and then scored a run in the bottom of the 9th to defeat Coldwater, 5-4. With the bases loaded and 2 out in the bottom of the 9th, Emmery Temple lined a single to right field, scoring Meg Henkle in the exciting finish. Madison Louth tallied 3 hits on the night, and Brittyn Bruns, Meg Henkle and Emmery Temple collected 2 hits apiece. Brittyn Bruns picked up the win in the circle pitching the 5 final innings. 

 

The Varsity Baseball team fell to Coldwater, 5-0. Trent Rollins had a solid outing on the mound going 5 innings and allowing 2 earned runs. Xavier Samples, Jack Yoder and Caiden Berry each collected a hit and the Panthers as a team collected 5 stolen bases.

  • Varsity Track AWAY at the Waynesfield Goshen Invite at 5:00

  • Varsity Softball HOME vs Adams Central at 5:30

 

Athletic events for Saturday:

  • JV Baseball HOME vs Crestview at 11:00

The Mercer County District Library in Celina is hosting a Teen Murder Mystery “Death on the Set” on Friday, April 26 from 6:00 to 7:00. Sign up, show up, play your role. Play detective and discover who’s killed the director. Teens ages 13-17 only. Registration is required at 

mercerlibrary.org/register Flyers will be posted in the hallways later this week.
