Principal's Message

   PARKWAY ELEMENTARY PARENT
                      UPDATE

                  DECEMBER, 2019

Dear Parents:

I want to thank all of you who attended this year’s parent-teacher conferences.  Children  perform so much better when parents take an active role in their education. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher(s) at any time during the school year if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education.

We have a couple of events that will surely get you into the Christmas spirit coming up this month.  The Rockford Carnegie Library is sponsoring “Scrooge”, presented by the Columbus Children’s Theatre at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium.  The public is invited to attend. On Thursday, December 5, our 2nd graders will be performing their Christmas concert at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium, followed by the 4th graders at 6:45 p.m.  The 1st and 3rd graders will sing their hearts out for you on Thursday, December 12.  Please come and enjoy the sounds of the season!

The Parkway Schools are accepting donations for the Angel Tree to make sure needy children in the district have presents to open on Christmas.  Please consider donating new coats, hats, gloves and/or toys.  Donations may be dropped off in each of the school offices by December 13.

As we near the holidays, help us keep your child’s focus on academics through the next three weeks.  A set routine at home for homework, play, and bedtime, will enable the student to be successful and productive at school.  The staff of the Parkway Elementary School offers you their best wishes for a blessed, happy and safe Christmas season!  School resumes on January 6, 2020!

 Sincerely,

 Mark Esselstein, Principal
