Mock Trial web site

This years 2009-2010 Mock Trial Team will be analying the proper limitations upon students' Frist Amendment Rights in the digital world. A student posted statements critical of the teacher on a personal blog. The blog was accessed by other students through the school's computer thus violating a school disciplinary code and the result the student who posted these were suspended. The student has filed a lawsuit against the school. The school argues that they have a right to discipline the student because he has caused a disruption at the school. The Mock Trial Team will focus obly upon whether the school is liable for the viloation of the students First Amendments Rights of free speech.
