Applying principles of anatomy and physiology,
nutrition, reproduction, and genetics to all phases in the production and/or
management of plants in both a domesticated and a natural environment. Planning, implementing, managing, and/or
providing support services to the identification, selection, breeding,
planting, fertilization, health, maintenance, and harvesting of plants and
plant products.
They will learn principles and management practices
for recognized groups of plants found in agriculture, horticulture, forestry,
and natural resources.
Applying principles of engineering to mechanical
equipment, structures, biological systems, land treatment, power utilization,
and technology. Planning, implementing,
managing, and/or providing support services to facility design and
construction; equipment design, manufacture, repair, and service; and
agricultural technology.

will learn how to construct a resume’ and job application and interviewing
principals to seek employment. They
will work on public speaking and leadership skills. In the shop they will learn the principals of
electrical wiring for the home and farm, and complete an extensive woodworking
project.

Students
will learn marketing techniques and strategies that are used in every day
life. They will learn the basics of
taxes dealing with W-4, W-2 and 1040EZ forms on the federal to local levels. They will be able to understand the marketing
of agricultural commodities from cash sales to futures trading. They will complete an agricultural sales
project as a group. Parliamentary
Procedure will be reviewed and customer relations dealing with the public
sector will be discussed. Students will
work in the shop on a hydraulics unit. There will be time for individual shop
projects chosen by the student.

will be on a work release program to work in an approved setting. Students must work 360 hours and record their
task in the Job Placement record book.
Students will be graded based off their record books, visit of
instructor and by the employer.

class time. This may consist of a Job Placement, Crop, Animal, or Research
project. The student is to maintain an individual career and technical
education portfolio including a record book listing the financial
records of the program, skills and competencies developed, and leadership
development activities in which the student participated.
